4、�<p>It may have missed its September release date but gory sci-fi shooter Dead Effect 2 is definitely coming out on October 22nd for iOS and Android.</p><p>That's a fact according to developer BadFly Interactive.</p><p>We're pretty familiar with Dead Effect 2 around here and not just because we played the original Bronze Award-winning Dead Effect.</p><p>It was the runner-up at our Very Big Indie Pitch last month at Pocket Gamer Connects in Helsinki.</p><p>We also went hands-on with it back in June for a preview video that you can watch below.</p>

• <p>We thought a cube would be very fast on its feet, but that was before we laid eyes on the main character in MicroCube.</p><p>In this new endless runner released for Android devices you play as - surprise surprise - a hyperactive small cube who you must guide across a range of hazards and obstacles. Doing so is essential if it’s to avoid dissolving into a pile of slag (stop laughing at the back).</p><p>The controls to do this are deceptively simple, and involve the use of just a single finger. You must hold your digit on the screen to help the titular cube move to the right - but knowing when best to speed up and slow down is vital in racking up a high score.</p><p>To help you achieve a place at the top of the scoreboard there’s a range of power ups you can nab too, including shields which allow you to dance across spikes and laser guns that can help clear your path.</p><p>MicroCube isn’t just all about high score chasing either, with the range of coins, pink gems, and golden gems scattered randomly across stages helping you unlock a range of over forty playable characters. They’re all cubes, naturally.</p><p>The main attribute of the game is certainly its speed then, and it certainly takes a little while to adjust to the controls - but developer ZPLAY is hopeful it’s helped create a game that will keep you glued to your phone (but, you know, not literally).</p><p>You can check out MicroCube for free right now on Android and iOS.</p>
