Crab War has a new update out now for iOS and Android, bringing with it a whole host of festive updates to welcome in the Christmas holiday.

The new update adds the ability to collect snowflakes from Snow Butterflies, and will act as a new currency during the event where you can exchange them for precious pearls, gems, conches, and genes to power up your swarm for the next major battle.

The update also adds some new holiday flavoured crabs with their own special properties. The Gingerbread Crab is a new exclusive shell coming in these latest celebrations, where you can obtain it for free by collecting snowflakes during the event. Also joining the fray is Santa’s Helper Crab, which shines in the iconic emerald green and Santa red associated with holidays, and the shell even bears a striking resemblance to the Christmas Elves of our world.
Whose sights till then were levelled on my face;

It might be one of the coolest.

The Salto is a full body motion capture suit lined with sensors to transmit your moves into VR input, but instead of requiring a full VFX studio to capture your movements, this is ready to use in "less than a minute".

It's cheap, too, comparatively. During the Kickstarter, you could pick up the most basic version of the suit - with 19 sensors - for $700. The more dedicated VR enthusiasts could probably find room in their budget for a full body suit, although it may take a while for games to take advantage of full body technology.

One game that will work is the bundled Reptilicus VR, allowing you to play the role of a city-totalling giant lizard. The suit responsiveness looks great on Salto's campaign page, with the campaign video showing some time in the suit.

The team from Copenhagen, Denmark have managed to keep costs down by using components common in many smartphones like gyroscopes, magnetometers and accelerometers. More expensive version of the suit set-up include development kits and nearly endless amounts of sensors.

The company raised $118,534 on Kickstarter to bring the suit to life, with no word on how much the Salto will cost when it reaches the market.

Two pretty big things happened today - one: Apple brought out a shiny, red colour for its iPhone 7/7 Plus, and two: it's dropped its 'Air' branding in favour of something much simpler.

In case you couldn't guess it, this new red-coloured tech is to do with (Product)Red, a company which works together with larger corporations to spread awareness and raise funds to help eliminate the HIV/AIDs virus. This comes after the App Store held Games for RED in December 2016.

If you're after a (RED) phone, you can grab the iPhone 7 from £699, or from £33.56/mo. Or, if you're after the iPhone 7 Plus, you can nab it from £819, or from £39.31/mo. It isn't specified exactly how much is contributed toward the fund, but every purchase contributes to the Global Fund. This also applies to accessories such as phone cases, Apple Watch sport bands, and more.

Where iPads are concerned, the 'Air' branding has sadly been winked out as it mildly tweaks its specs on the product. As well as a new camera app, its A8X chip's been bumped up to A9, and its name sits comfortably as an - er - iPad.

Aside from that nothing else has really changed, so unless you're running on fumes with a much older model, there's no need to go trading in your iPad Air/Air 2 just yet.
