On the stranger side of things, and to contradict the fact that Nintendo said they aren't bringing in new content updates, Super Mario Run recently got a new 'Friendly Run' mode.

The Friendly Run mode means that you can now compete against your SMR friends without using up any Rally Tickets. Of course, there's a catch. Players with the free version of the game get to race once per day. Those with the premium title get a little more opportunity as you can race a little more - clearing World One means you can race up to three times a day, whilst clearing World Two and above get five races a day.

Much like many online private game-modes, you don't earn anything whilst competing in it. It's quite literally just for fun and bragging rights, but that's okay. It does feel a little like Nintendo's sweetener to pull players back once the game is complete, but whether people dig that kind of thing or not is totally subjective.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if any more content comes to the game, or whether Nintendo's call of 'no content updates ever' was really just a marketing ploy.

The Eagle and His CaptorGaming is There to cover every aspect of real life in a simulated way, from racing to adventure and every form. In the gaming arsenal, it is nearly impossible if any genre is left out unexplored, so it’s not challenging to find cricket-related games on the play store, I store, or other OS. Cricket is the most adventurous and widespread sport, especially in the countries like Australia, England, India, etc. So it was essential to provide needed enjoyment in this segment also.
Developer Triband’s What the Golf?, a previous Big Indie Pitch winner, might well be the most patently ridiculous game launching today on Apple Arcade. It takes the general idea behind golf and makes it actually fun by switching the ball for a car, cat, house, human, etc.

There’s a real inventiveness, as well as a charming silliness, to its levels. They’re also constantly surprising, with some even requiring you to remain stealthy. I’ve seen others that play out like bowling mini-games and one where you have to pop a toaster with a horse. There’s even a section that borrows the ‘time only moves when you move’ premise and visual style of Superhot. I could go on and on.

It might remind you of Boneloaf’s Gang Beasts and No Brakes Games’ Human Fall Flat, but this is less an exercise in physics-based frustration than a joyful, playful parody of what is a fairly walled-off sport.
