&#;"But the house itself, Gilbert,--OUR first home? What is it like?"'Many there were that did his picture get,

Gilbert put his arm about them. "Oh you mothers!" he said. "You mothers! God knew what He was about when He made you."
Oculus Connect 3 has really been bringing some exciting news forward this week, and none quite as interesting as Turtle Rock Studios' collaboration announcement as two titles are headed to Gear VR.

The developer of Left for Dead's move into VR is hardly surprising but their recent blunder with Evolve leaves us withholding our praises until the games are released. Both titles, Face Your Fears and Other Worlds, are set to launch later this month on the Oculus Store.

Other Worlds showcases three unique worlds as we step into a painting birthed from the mind of Justin Cherry. The environments provide beautiful, dark, and foreboding experiences which may reveal some random world-related events if you're exploring long enough. By incorporating the Gear VR's full 360-degree capability and three-dimensional sound, it certainly sounds intriguing enough to leave me tapping my fingers and waiting for some promotional images.

Face Your Fears speaks for itself. Due out on October 31st it's easy to believe that this will be a horror game based on your worst nightmares – like a Boggart, only right in front of your eyes without professor Lupin's divine protection.

"In Skyscraper, a player stands on the ledge of a skyscraper in the middle of a big city. When looking down, a giant robot is climbing up towards the player. In the Haunting, players experience the fear and excitement of being a little kid in bed in a room where things are not what they seem. What starts with a creaking house and distant thunder, crescendos into frightening moments that build up based on where the player is looking (or not looking)."

Luckily that's not everyone's fears, but it'll be interesting to see how Turtle Rock will fare in the switch to VR. The images are pretty much non-existent, but the one promotional image released shows an insidious-like demon hiding behind a creepy clown – though the graphics aren't the best.

Read the full release here.

There's an embarrassment of riches on the App Store when it comes to licensed Games Workshop games. But that doesn't mean that there isn't space for another one. Which is good, because I saw two today.

One of them is The Horus Heresy Legions. It's a card game that owes a decent amount to Hearthstone. But it's more than that. Built from the ground up as a mobile game, it's sharper, its play time is shorter, and there's a ferocity to it that fits in with its grim dark grim grim dark future setting.

I only got to play it for a few minutes, but that was enough to get a feel for it. It's a deck-builder, with characters lifted from the Horus Heresy books. If you're not familiar with those, a really bad thing happens and everything gets more awful. There's more to it than that, but it doesn't really matter.
Legions of doom
The game would work if it didn't have the GW branding, but it adds a thuggish stomp to play. There are space marines, there are chaos space marines. There's a lot of fighting. A campaign walks you through some of the battles that made up the conflict. Then there's online play.

That's where the meat of the game is. You can join clans, called Lodges here, and there are events that let you change the content that the game is going to receive. If one side comes at the top of an event leaderboard, then different cards and decks will be available than if the other wins.

There's a lot of good ideas here, and the game gets the feel of the grungy spaceships and war torn planets just right. There's a hefty blob of stragtegy too, with plenty of different cards and potential deck combinations to play with.
Killing time
Legions feels like a game that gets both the platform it's being built for, and the people who are going to be playing it. The addition of GW's rich lore is just the icing on the cake. Even if you're not a fan, the card chucking underneath everything is good enough that it's unlikely it's going to matter.

There are plenty of Games Workshop games on the App Store. But this one feels like it's going to more than earn its place among them.
Missiles!(no watching ads to get Rewards)&#;&#;

&#;
It will soon be time for the big finale! Yesterday at PGC Helsinki the panel of judges picked the top five games from 37 submitted to the Very Big Indie Pitch.

An afternoon of pitching and playing was followed by fierce debate. And in no particular order here are the five that made it through to today’s final round:
SkidStormImmobile Games

His road home lay across a stream into which his Ass, making a false step, fell by accident and rose up again with his load considerably lighter, as the water melted the sack. The Peddler retraced his steps and refilled his panniers with a larger quantity of salt than before. When he came again to the stream, the Ass fell down on purpose in the same spot, and, regaining his feet with the weight of his load much diminished, brayed triumphantly as if he had obtained what he desired. The Peddler saw through his trick and drove him for the third time to the coast, where he bought a cargo of sponges instead of salt. The Ass, again playing the fool, fell down on purpose when he reached the stream, but the sponges became swollen with water, greatly increasing his load. And thus his trick recoiled on him, for he now carried on his back a double burden.
